Were back for another great big ISSUE of NFL ACTION, here at the NFL Edge. Still somewhat in Summer vactaion mode but getting ramped up for another big year. However If you are a really big fan of NFL Pre-Season action, (and most years I am right there with you) you should check out this rant from one of last years PRESEASON PICKS where I gave some valuble insight into preseason gaming! Despite all the you know LOVE these preaseason games. If you check out our STATS; you see that we usually start strong in the pre-season. So lets get this thing back on the right track with a THREE PLAY FOR THIS WEEK.

Chicago vs. Indianapolis -7.5 GET THE LIVE NFL BETTING LINE NOW! I like this game only because the Chicago Bears will be without starting quarterback Rex Grossman on Saturday night when they play the Indianapolis Colts. Grossman fractured his ankle in the Bears' loss to the Rams in Week 1, and the media spent all week shoving that down everyones throat. This line is way out of wack due to the grossman injury. Tony Dungy a notorious preseason mush, wont play his starters very long in this one, and the Colts have abysmal preseason records anyway. Especially now with a QB opportunity brewing for Chicago, Chad Hutchinson is expected to become the team's starter, with competition from Kyle Orton and newly-signed Jeff Blake. (hey dont count out ole Kyle Orton.) these guys figure to see a vanilla Colts defense rife with waiver wire material for the majority of this one, even in Indy. ************************************ Indy 24 - CHI 21 ************************************ CHI 24 - IND. 17 COVER   Philadelphia at Baltimore -2.5 GET THE LIVE NFL BETTING LINE NOW! The Philadelphia Eagles look to shake off the circus atmosphere of their camp and get down to business in Baltimore this week. The Eagles, with the Terrell Owens saga unfolding in chaotic and bizarre turns, still racked up 31 points in their preseason opener against Pittsburgh, but still lost. Meanwhile, the Ravens look to regroup from a poor 16-3 showing in Atlanta. The Ravens did not use Jamal Lewis in the Falcons game, but will be working him into practice this week. The running back just completed a jail term for a cocaine conviction. I still dont expect to see much of Lewis this week. Philly was abused and will be looking to bounce back and quell the talk of their demise with a strong effort this week. If you are a big fan of the NFL Edge and were to check out our SPECIAL REPORT ON PRESEASON WAGERING you would see that even last year we told you Andy Reid has a poor record in preseason, and Baltimore is one of the better preseason teams. One reason for that is that they wont play too much Kyle Boller, and that is as good a reason as any to go with the Ravens. ************************************ BALT 27 - Phila 21 ************************************ PHILA 20 - BALT 14 LOSER   Oakland at Houston -1.5 GET THE LIVE NFL BETTING LINE NOW! The Oakland Radiers and the Houston Texans will both be looking for their first preseason win when these two meet on Saturday night in Houston. The Texans open as a slim favorite at home. Likely due to the big names on the Raiders roster, however newly acquired receiver Randy Moss only had one catch for 11 yards. and Raider starting quarterback Kerry Collins was 8-for-12 for 68 yards, the first units still dont figure to get that much work. Tuiasosoppo and rookie QB Andrew Walter will be putting in the meaningful minutes of this one, and for the Texans Quarterback David Carr only threw two passes in the first game, instead Tony Banks and Dave Ragone took most of the snaps. The Defenses will be way ahead of the offenses at this point in the preseason, and if you didnt notice last week against San Fransico the Raiders defense is not very good, and thats the first unit. Houston is not all that much better, but have an Edge over Oakland. ************************************ HOU 27 - Oak 24 ************************************ HOU 19 - OAK 17 WINNER
