THURSDAY NIGHT SPECIAL!MARSHALL +11.5 @ Virginia Tech -11.5Another school looking for respect. A win here will do for Marshall what even Randy Moss could not: give them a shot at a big bowl game and all the goodies that follow. Frank Beamer's team may be vulnerable here, as QB Grant Noel is out and Bryan Randall is in. Randall is a running threat, but his passing skills are questionable. Tech will hand off to Lee Suggs early and often. Marshalls QB Byron Leftwich will keep it close early and make it very intersting as he makes his bid for the Heisman. No matter how good one player is the better team always wins. In Blacksburg the better team will Be Va Tech. Ever dreamed about a place on South Beach?? Michigan -3.5 at Notre Dame +3.5Just a great rivalry. Michigan taught the boys from South Bend how to play football back in the late 1800's, and the teams have hated each other ever since. Records can be thrown out the window for this one - the underdog has done very well in this series. Also, the home field has not always proven to be an advantage when these two meet. The Doc has ta call em as I see em, and I just don't see the Irish offense solving Michigan's tough D. Eventually, Blue's offense will find a way to put some points on the board and pull away from the Irish in the second half. Sorry ND Fans You're not there yet. Ty W. Sunday, Sep. 15Tampa Bay -3.5 at Baltimore +3.5If you did not enjoy the highest scoring opening weekend in NFL history, if TDs and offense offends you. This is your game. There will be hitting, and lots of it, QBs getting dirty, probably lots of footballs flying around - and not from passes either. Just remember two weeks before the regular season, who told you that Tampa was struggling to score points. That is still the case and wont change this week against Lewis and company. I still like Tampa this week. Eventually they will break out and put up some points. However that could be in November. With that in mind, how comfortable am I laying the 4 points? I think crazy is a better word. ************************************* Tennessee -2.5 at Dallas +2.5The Cowboys should be feeling pretty darn 'ornery after losing to an expansion team. All the talk has all been about how bad the Cowboys really must be. Well, I did have my doubts about Q.C. the QB and he has not done anything to disprove that. The Cowboys were pretty much just in a bad spot. Sunday night was one of those "any given sundays" where the Texans might have suckered anyone. (And I think they did -- did anyone BET the Texans last week??) I think this is the week where a humiliated Cowboy team responds and plays much better, I cant say that I will pick them to win, cause I think Tenn will pull it out, but I will add, I would not be surprised at ALL to see it happen. ************************************* Arizona +3.5 at Seattle -3.5If anyone was watching the Hawks last week, they might be wondering how they could be 3.5 point favorites. I actually might be thinking that same exact thing. Well not playing the Raiders in Oakland will clearly help the Seahawks. Playing the Cardinals will help the Hawks even more. While I think that the Cards could give the Hawks a game. Mike Holmgren teams bounce back off big losses and despite being embarassed the week before will shock everyone when they win this one. ************************************* N.Y. Giants +12.5 at St. Louis -12.5The Rams come in after a frustrating loss in Denver. The Media will be all over the Rams all week especially after Martz passed on that field goal. The fact that the Giants let another close one slip away, convinced everyone last week that the Giants are better than what they thought and can play pretty darn good. Well thats what everyone must be thinking anyway... and with a 2 TD spread. I hate to say that I like the Giants but 13 is a lot of points. BUT NOT SO FAST, I also feel that EVERYONE will be all over the Giants plus the 13 points figuring for a close game anyway. If that happens, and then watch this point spread go down, That is practically a GUARANTEE that they wont cover! Ya follow what I'm saying, in other words... ************************************* Buffalo +4.5 at Minnesota -4.5Drew Bledsoe brings the Bills up to Minnesota with a bit of a swagger despite losing at home. The feeling that Buffalo was much improved was confirmed for the most part. The Bills will really be tested in the loud Metrodome, where Culpeper and company will really press the young Buffalo Defense. Bledsoe will be throwing bunches to keep Buffalo in this one, but just too much to ask to beat a Viking team in its Dome-opener. ************************************* Denver +3.5 at San Francisco -3.5Another potential shootout in Frisco. SF was pretty much bottled up by the Giants and despite the victory 49er fans have been on the offense, wanting to see more points. Similarly Denver fans are all over Griese. Just cuz they feel that he needs to better. I dont see that at all, the Rams do have a solid defense and Griese was able to throw the clinching TD when it really mattered. The fans should lay off of Griese, at least until AFTER this week. ************************************* Houston +12.5 at San Diego -12.5Wow a match up of 2 unbeatens! Throw in a 13 point spread. Yeah only in NFL2002 can this be possible. Either people are seriously disrespecting the unbeaten Texans or people are putting way too much stock in the Bolts destruction of Cincy last week. Imagine what this line would be had Texas lost? Well after this week we wont hear "unbeaten Texans" again this year, in fact this should be the healthy dose of reality we all expected for Houston last week. ************************************* Oakland +3.5 at Pittsburgh -3.5Heres another point spread that raises an eyebrow here. Pitts looking as woeful as they did against the Pats installed as a 4 point favorite over the Raiders, the same Raiders that rolled over Seattle. I can see the "home field advantage" and the "monday night bounce" bettors blindly all over Pitt. Let me shed some light. The reality of gambling is this: "never mind all the theories, just pick the Winner!!" Only one of these two can "just win baby". ************************************* Monday, Sep. 16

 South Carolina +5.5 at Georgia -5.5GET ACTION ON THIS GAME NOW - CLICK HERE This Georgia team feels that it is as good or better than anyone in the SEC. You'll get no argument from the Doc. David Greene is the passing threat, but Coach Richt is not afraid to put DJ Shockley in the game to add another dimension to the position. Musa Smith has shown that he can carry the pill, and the D is stoudt. Carolina' s problem last week was that their defense could not withstand the six turnovers by the O. They will play much better this time around, focusing on an in-league rival. Despite getting burnes last week. I like the Cocks in an upset. ************************************* Washington St. +7.5 at Ohio St. -7.5GET ACTION ON THIS GAME NOW - CLICK HERE An intreguing matchup, with Wash State trying to prove they belong with the nation's elite. The question is this: Will the Cougars score enough points to take Ohio State out of it's potent running game? The answer is no.
