Now I know what your all thinking, I am picking on a hapless Houston team. Well, maybe.
But c'mon even in this pre-season game where most of the players finishing up games will be unemployed come monday.
Even amounst them there are those who will be STARTING for the Texans at some point this year, perhaps.
The guys on the bubble for Houston could play thier little hearts out in front of a likely 60,000 person crowd.
All the better for Gruden and the Bucs who while winning some games were shellacked last week by Spurriers Rdskins.
For all this talk of West coast offense in Tampa the Bucs are still struggling where it counts, the scoreboard.
Alas poor Texans I think that even the back ups will not want to deal with a flight home with a Grumpy Gruden.

Dr. Biffs NCAA PICKS!!
The Doc can't wait for all this "preseason" stuff to get over with.
Lets get into some college ball...This week offers up a few intriguing matchups,
and the Doc is really liking the homers this week.
Lets take a look at a few of the better games for the weekend:
Syracuse +2.5 at B.Y.U. -2.5
Anyone who follows SU football knows that the 'Cuse always starts out slow. One alum I know says that "they play best
after they have completely eliminated themselves from any National Championship aspirations... and they lose thier second game."
Although the Cougars must find a QB to replace Brandon Doman,
the Doc has heard that junior Bret Engermann has looked good all summer.
I know the Cougars will put up the points, and I just don't see the 'Cuse being able to match them with only eight returning starters overall.
RJ Anderson is a real talent at QB, but there is no proven back and the line is rebuilding. If SU d-line cant get to the QB, it could be a long day for the Orange.
This time, BYU runs out to big lead and SU will make a game of it in the second half, but not by enough to cover.

Kansas City -2.5 vs. St. Louis +2.5

Bookies love games like this. Where the fans would get all excited seeing the Rams plus points.
This is a big trap game, St. Louis will no doubt not risk Warner and Faulk & co. in the tune up before it counts.
The back ups have really not played well at all this pre-season. Throw in that Dickie V. wants to show his old team that
he has a much improved bunch. A game no less being played in hostile Arrowhead, and I see a lopsided KC show!

Washington +5.5 at Michigan -5.5
Beware teams with something to prove, says the Doc.
This bunch of Wolverines is, well, pissed off after a dissappointing end to last year.
They bring a rock solid defense led by LB Victor Hobson and returning last year's whole line.
The offense may need time to gel, as they search for a replacement for Marquis Walker
and try to find a go to back. Navarre has yet to impress the Doc at QB.
As for Washington, they will be bringing
a high powered offense led by Cody Pickett and Reggie Williams,
the best reciever in this fine land. The D is vulnerable.
I give the nod to Michigan at home -
the D will set the tone and the offense will come through just enough to win it.
