Green Bay -6.5 @ DETROIT +6.5
OVER/UNDER 46.5
Nothing like an 0-9 Turkey for Thanksgiving!! What a treat this will be!
There are still those die hards that like Detroit at home on Thanksgiving. The Stats do bear it out.
Although these Lions are blowing all kinds of Stats away. Last week the Lions Offense put up 38 points and it wasn't enough.
While the Pack was getting thier big yellow butts spanked by the Falcons. The Packers learned that lesson and will not take the Lions lightly
despite thier record. Dont even think the home crowd will matter they will be filing out for DINNER by halftime.

FINAL GB 29 - DET 27 WINNER/No Cover
Denver -6.5 @ Dallas +6.5
OVER/UNDER 40.5
Probably the last thing were going to want to see later on Thanksgiving is MORE TURKEY, and we're getting another course here!!
Though this is a little more flavorful than the last one. Rarely do both Thanks. home teams lose, and with Detroit cornering that market that leaves Dallas.
Going by the same token as the early game Denver should have learned thier lesson about underestimating the Redskins last week.
But that wasn't it alone, the Skins are improving and Denver is doing the fade. Dallas getting thumped again by Philly should be just the kind of beating to
really make them play a good one for the National Audience. Seeing Emmitt Smith run wild this Thursday would not be as farfetched as say fitting into last years
Christmas outfit after Dinner.

Balt. -3.5 @ Jacks +3.5
Brunell Inj.
OVER/UNDER NL
The Jags bit me in the but last week. No complaining but after reading my write up all about how Brunell would upset Pitts,
then of course he doesn't play -- anyway thats the breaks for picking too early in the week.
OK NOW PAY ATTENTION THIS PICK HINGES ON THE FACT THAT BRUNELL WONT PLAY!! -- so watch him start sunday -- anyway even with Elvis at the helm the Ravs. will Rave,
watch for the move to Cunningham before the playoffs -- especially if Grbac is ineffective AGAIN.

Ravens 14 - Jags 6

FINAL Ravens 24 - Jags 21 Winner/No Cover
Miami -4.5 @ Buffalo +4.5
OVER/UNDER 35.5
So the rule on the Dolphins is avoid taking them when playing the Jets. Buffalo was once another Dolphin death ring.
The Bills cant really make that claim anymore -- despite the gutty performance against Seattle, a very angry playoff contending Dolphin team
bounces back big against Buffalo, which in fact isn't even cold enough yet to truly enjoy good wings!
****************************************
Miami 31 - Buffalo 20
****************************************
FINAL MIA 34 - BUF 27 WINNER
Pitts. +1.5 @ Tenn. -1.5
OVER/UNDER 34.5
Pitts. has been very dominant this year and this looks like a mismatch if you go strictly by standings and stats.
The Titans seem to have awoken from thier slumber in time to at least make a run at respectability. This game will go a long way to assert at least to the home fans that
there may be some steam left in the well this year. Stranger things have happened -- like Chris Brown missing Field Goals in OT.
MMMMAson getting takled at the ONE! Hmmm lets see this week... Browns kick, its up...
and... wide left!
****************************************
Tenn 19 - Pitt 17
****************************************
FINAL Pitts 34 - Tenn 24 LOSER
San Fran +2.5 @ Indy -2.5
OVER/UNDER 51.5
Seems people are putting a lot of faith in Indy bouncing back this week at home.
Remember my telling folks to grab San Fran while they are cheap.
This line screams bargain, The Colts Defense has no answer for Garica to Owens and he will run all over the Hoosier Dome,
Manning to Harrison will answer, but without Edgerrin the Ultimate difference will be Garrison Hearst and the young
improving San Fran. Defense. The points are a bonus!
****************************************
San Fran. 34 - Indy 30
****************************************
FINAL SF 40 - INDY 21 WINNER
Sea. +1.5 @ K.C. -1.5
OVER/UNDER 40.5
Another Eye opening line! How could KC at 2-7 be favored?
Well Arrowhead is one tough place to play and the Hawks insistance on playing Hasslebeck at QB
though it has been paying off will lead to grwoing pains like playing in a hostile environment like Arrowhead.
While I see K.C. playing tough at home, Seattle has too much defense to really get ground up by Priest Holmes and Co.
and Shaun Alexander should rip through the KC Defense. -- Keep in mind however the only other time I went against KC they won --
and Vegas thinks so too, STEP RIGHT UP!!!
****************************************
Sea. 19 - KC 17
****************************************
FINAL KC 19 - Sea 7 LOSER

Atlanta -3.5 @ Carolina +3.5
OVER/UNDER 37.5
Suddenly Atlanta at 5 - 4 is quitely a playoff contender. Typical of Dan Reeves teams they do so with solid defense and a team that makes few mistakes.
With Chandler healthy and at the helm they are formidable. Carolina has looked abysmal and may not have much in the tank.
Every now and again teams like that are dangerous. Not because they are capable of having a great game every so often,
but because a team like Atlanta wont take them as seriously as say a New ORleans or San Fran. Reeves though is good at avoiding a let down.
Here were also figuring on Chris Wenke playing for the Cats -- ok??
****************************************
Atl. 17 - Car 16
****************************************
FINAL ATL 10 - Car 7 WINNER
Wash. +9.5 @ Phila -9.5
OVER/UNDER 37.5
The Eagles appear to be Flying away with the NFC East, pasting thier last couple of foes.
Washington figures to be a more difficult foe to vanquish even in Philly. Coach Shottenheimer has the Skins
playing his ball and get this if they pull this off they are only 2 GAMES back of Philly with another date set in Washington.
Counting the Skins out is a mistake. Just like in Denver last week I like the Skins to not get rattled in the Vet,
and really bring it to Philly, although I ultimately like McNabbs ability to STEAL this one with last minute heroics,
not until Wash really gives the Eagles a scare though!
****************************************
Phil. 16 - Wash. 13
****************************************
FINAL WAS 13 - Phi 3 COVER
Cinci. +6.5 @ Cle -6.5
OVER/UNDER 35.5
Well the battle of Ohio figures to be a Dog-fight in Cleveland.
And though the Dogs have been counted out over and over again here at the NFL edge
we really do respect whats going on in Cleveland, just like ole Butch Davis built up the Miami Hurricane Program
to the level that this current group is enjoying, next year at this time the Browns will be talking playoffs for sure,
in the meantime they have yet to experience many things, such a s a let down.
****************************************
Cinci. 17 - Cle. 16
****************************************
FINAL Cle 18 - Cin 0 LOSER
N.O. @ N.E. pickem
OVER/UNDER 41.5
Both these teams are on the cusp, if you will and this will be a big game to see which team will establish itself.
New Engl. has been staunch at home and N.O. has struggled in some places. Aaron Brooks can make this a tough day on the N.E. Defense,
which will see plenty of RB Ricky Williams who needs to come up big if N.O. is to have a shot.
****************************************
N.O. 23 - N.E. 21
****************************************
FINAL NE 34 - NO 17 LOSER

Ariz +6.5 @ San Diego -6.5
OVER/UNDER 37.5
What exactly has Arizona shown us this year. An occaisional glimmer of offensive hope and a Defense that frankly hasnt quite come apart yet.
Although giving up 38 pts to the Lions may not be indicative. So after showing up in the 1st Eagle game,
The Cards lost about 4 straight and were due for a monthly win against an equally inept Lions. For San Diego the spirited efforts in thier last two
games will bear better results this week for Flutie and Co.
****************************************
S.D. 29 - Ariz 14
****************************************
FINAL Az 20 - SD 17 LOSER
Oakl. -2.5 @ New York Giants +2.5
OVER/UNDER 38.5
The Giants played right up to par for them this season monday in Minnesota,
going 1 - 5 in the Red Zone. Struggling to even break 20 pts week in and week out, settling for field goals will not get the G-men into the playoffs.
Defensively they Struggle against teams with good wideouts -- David Boston of Arizona Torched them,
James Thrash, Washingtons Rod Gardner, Last Week Randy Moss, wait this week they get, Tim Brown AND
Jerry Rice!! Throw in Charlie Garner and QB Rich Gannon who distributes the Rock as well as anyone and
The Giants will be trailing by halftime, the boos will start, they will need to go to the 2 minute offense to try to get back in it,
and that is not the Giants forte at all, this one is all RAAAYYYYYDDDDDEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZ!!
****************************************
Oakl. 34 - Giants 19
****************************************
FINAL Oak 28 - NYG 10 WINNER
Chi +2.5 @ Minn -2.5
OVER/UNDER 39.5
The Bears will need a monumental effort to keep Minnesota out of it, getting former ProBowlers Dale Carter and Robert Griffith back in thier secondary
really stabilized things defensively, the good coverage improved the Pass rush and arrived at a critical time for Minny this year.
The Bears however defy all logic and will severly test the Viking run defense, the Bear D has come up with Huge Plays at huge times,
they just have all the makings of a champion, and if that is what they are this season, they win this game.
****************************************
Bears 21 - Vikes 20

FINAL CHI 13 - MINN 6 WINNER

The football season is winding down,
and it's time for teams to make a bid for the BCS
(an utterly flawed, asinine system).
I want to look only at teams that are making a run at the post season
from this point on. Also, I'd like to take this opportunity,
(and yes, it is an opportunity to be able to blab at ya'll)
to make a plea for reform in the bowl system.
Let's get something straight - the Doc LOVES the bowl games.
That being said, there are simply way too many of them.
A wise man once said "Six wins does not a bowl team make", and the Doc agrees.
Lets raise the minimum number of wins to seven see what happens.
Hey, if the megacorporation.com bowl in lovely Binghamton, NY ends up without any teams,
than so be it. Lose a few bowl games and I don't think anyone would mind.
Might help restore the luster that used to come with getting selected to go bowlin'.
Just my two cents....
Here's the picks:
Want to make some comments?
Nebraska -9.5 at Colorado +9.5
The question is, will the Huskers be looking beyond this game
to their upcoming showdown with Oklahoma?
The Buffaloes are miffed that Nebraska usually
downtalks the importance of this game. Rivalry?
Nope, not here. We'll see about that after this showdown.
Quietly, Gary Barnett has done a remarkable coaching job in Colorado
(and I can't stand the guy), taking an injury plagued
team and finding ways to win each week.
QB Bobby Pesarento will need to play a quality game to keep up with the Huskers.
Something tells me it will take a few more years before Nebraska will call this one a "rivalry".
****************************************
Neb 34 - Colo 17
****************************************
FINAL Colo 62 - NEB 36 Loser

Washington +25.5 at Miami -25.5
Miami really showed us something last week by pasting the Orangemen down in Miami.
They get another shot at a quality team on their home turf.
I'll go way out on a limb here and say that Washington will not fold up like the Cuse did.
This Washington team has a real strong offense,
and should be able to find it's way into the end zone enough to make this a game.
Look for Reggie Williams to take advantage of a talented, but short Miami secondary.
Don't get me wrong-the Canes will win- but the Puple and Gold will come to play.
Take the Huskies with that generous point spread.
****************************************
Miami 31 - Wash. 24
****************************************
FINAL MIA 68 - WAS 7 WINNER/No Cover

Ohio State +9.5 at Michigan -9.5
Jim Tressel had this game circled from the minute he took over at Ohio State.
Remember, John Cooper lost his job almost solely because of his dismal record vs the Wolverines.
These guys match up well, but I'm liking Michigan's D to be the difference.
The Wolverines will not be pushed around by a plodding team like Ohio State,
and I think they win this one in a low scoring affair.
Michigans Marquise Walker is by far the best player on the field.
In a defensive game -- That's good enough for me.
****************************************
Mich 19 - O.S.U. 13
****************************************
FINAL OSU 26 - MICH 20 Loser

Notre Dame +7.5 at Stanford -7.5
At 7-2, the Cardinal are looking for a nice location to spend their New Year's Day.
Standing in thier way is a Notre Dame squad that is reeling.
Rumors of Bob Davie's demise are overshadowing anything that is happening on the football field
for the Irish. Add to that the fact that ND is winless on the road
this year and pathetic at night under coach Davie.
Look for Cardinal QB Chris Lewis to light it up against ND's weak secondary.
Irish QB Carlyle Holiday will have to be at his improvisational best for the
Irish to stay in this one.
****************************************
Stanford
33 - Notre Dame 20

FINAL Stan 17 - ND 13 WINNER/No Cover
