INDIANAPOLIS +3.5 @ NEW ORLEANS -3.5
OVER/UNDER 47.5
Well at least the indecision about Edgerrin James is over for the Colts. Hes done for the year.
Leaving Rookie RB Rhodes to carry the Load. As if that werent enough QB Manning has a broken Jaw.
Thier suspect defense will be good medicine for the Saints offense. But even a bruised and battered Manning can still put up points.
The scary part is if the N.O. defense can get to Manning and take him out the Colts then turn the offense to QB Mark Rypien.
Which could get really ugly fast for the Colts.

FINAL SAINTS 34 - Indy 20 WINNER/No Cover
NY JETS +5.5 AT MIAMI -5.5
OVER/UNDER 37.5
Might as well read the same post I wrote a few weeks back when these two first met. The Jets have won this rivalry the last eight times. High time that the Fish got one back.
The Jets despite my badgering have quitly posted a 6 - 3 mark and with a win here would be solidly in control of the AFC East. Owning the tiebreakers with Miami.
Zach Thomas and the Dolphins wont allow that to happen, the streak ends here.

Miami 24 - Jets 13

FINAL JETS24 - MIA 0 Loser
Philadelphia -7.5 AT DALLAS +7.5
OVER/UNDER 37.5
Last time these two met Philly blew Dallas out by about 30 points, and now they are playing much better. Dallas has seen games they were in control of crumble away in the second half the past couple of weeks.
This has all the makings of a blowout. Which is precisely why I am leery. Philly may be taking Dallas a little lightly and at home with more than a TD they are very attractive. If Emmett Smith were healthy and Ryan Leaf had shown me anything last week, I would jump all over Big D.
As it stands now I cant do it, but just keep in mind in these Divisional Grudge matches the home dogs have been covering this year big, but I cant see it here -- it will be closer this time though.

Phi 21 - Dal 13

FINAL Phi 31 - Dal 3 WINNER
CAROLINA +6.5 AT SAN FRAN -6.5
OVER/UNDER 42.5
Carolina is crippled, they havent won since the summer. QB Chris Wenke will likely miss this game as well, and the Niners -- well you read about them here way back when.
Remember when we said jump on the Niners while the spreads are low?? Though there is no action currently on this game I figure S.F. will be about a 10 pt fav. while Carolina was demolished by the Rams last week
that did not bode well for thier confidence, without early success against the S.F. this will be another rout. Doubt you will be able to find anyone to take action on this game though.

S.F. 31 - Car. 10

FINAL SF 25 - Car 22 WINNER/No Cover
SEATTLE -3.5 AT BUFFALO +3.5
OVER/UNDER 38.5
Seattle with thier huge offensive explosion last week has crawled back into contention at 4-4. Buffalo is going nowhere fast still seeking thier second win.
The good news for the Bills is thier very sackable QB Rob Johnson is out, Alex Van Pelt takes over and from what I have seen he cant be much worse.
If the Bills Defense can keep Alexander in check - they wont win, but they may cover. If not Alexander goes wild and the Hawks will find themselves at 5-4 and
*gasp* in the playoff picture!!

Seattle 24 - Buff. 14

FINAL SEA 23 - BUF 20 WINNER/No Cover
CINICINNATI +1.5 AT TENNESSEE -1.5
OVER/UNDER 39.5
The Titans can now officially be called the 1 yard short gang. what a thriller Mon Night huh?
Well they will be very peed off this week and despite the strides Cincy has made this season The Titans will snap the Bengals defense like a twig!
They wont come up short this week.
****************************************
Tenn. 27 - Cinci 20
****************************************
FINAL Tenn 20 - Cin 7 WINNER
ATLANTA +9.5 AT GREEN BAY -9.5
OVER/UNDER 39.5
Green Bay has regained the top seat in the Central division and will likely not let up.
They are playing too well and Atlanta while eeking out a win at home vs. Dallas will not be as fortunate this week in Lambeau.
****************************************
Green Bay 20 - Atl. 7
****************************************
FINAL Atl 23 - GB 20 Loser
CLEVELAND +7.5 AT BALTIMORE -7.5
OVER/UNDER 32.5
Couch and the Browns gave Pitts. all they could handle and with any more offense they might have pulled that one out. Things will not get any easier this week as they travel to Balt.
Baltimore comes off an unbelievable victory over Tenn. and though I still question the move to Elvis Grbac in the offseason Balt. should still win this game barring a letdown.

Balt. 21 - Cle. 10

FINAL Cle 24 - Balt 17 Loser

CHICAGO +3.5 AT TAMPA -3.5
OVER/UNDER 34.5
The Bears ran out of miracle last week, while Tampa needed one to pull out a last second victory in Detroit. While the Bears have been very kind to the NFL edge here this is November now. The time of year when Bears go into Hibernation.
For Tampa this is familiar territory they have started out 3-4 in the past 2 seasons and this is old hat for them, they will stop the Bears and find a way to pull this one out.
****************************************
Tampa 23 - Chi 17
****************************************
FINAL Chi 27 - TAMPA 24 Loser
SAN DIEGO +9.5 AT OAKLAND -9.5
OVER/UNDER 44.5
So the Raiders were exposed in Seattle last week. They can be run on. San Diego has LaDamian Tomlinson. What you think Gruden will let that happen twice??
Yeah then you might want to tell me who will stop Tim Brown and Jerry Rice? Sure I like Flutie but Cinderella the clock has struck midnight, at least this week it will,
besides have you ever seen the Ghouls who go to Raider Games??
****************************************
Oakl. 27 - San D. 13
****************************************
FINAL Oakl 34 - SD 24 WINNER
JACKSONVILLE +6.5 @ PITTS. -6.5
OVER/UNDER 35.5
A slam dunker Pitts with thier No. 1 defense and Jerome Bettis will be too much for the Jag.
Uh no. Like all these smashmouth teams they can be vulnerable to the big play, and from what I have seen Mark Brunell has several big plays left.
If Pitts thinks Kris Browns kicking will be enough this week they are mistaken, I smell a big day from Mark Brunell Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell
big enough to stay within a TD anyway -- heck I smell upset!
****************************************
Jacks. 17 - Pitt 16
****************************************
FINAL Pitt 20 - Jaxs 7 Loser
WASHINGTON +9.5 AT DENVER -9.5
OVER/UNDER 43.5
Edge Analyst big "D" onion has been screaming at me "Denver is overrated" all season. "They will collapse" he professes.
While I dont see signs of collapse, I do see signs of vulnerability.
Wash. has been playing as well as anyone the last 4 weeks,
but nothing that kills momentum more than a week off.
If Wash. can get out front, then RB Stephen Davis becomes a factor and big D might be onto something.
You can be sure Terrell Davis will not be - he is out.
Wash. has enough Defense to keep it close and as much as
I would like to call the upset Denver is a very difficult
place to go in and win. But with 10 points I think Wash. covers.
****************************************
Denver 24 - Wash 20
****************************************
FINAL Was 17 - Den 10 COVER
DETROIT +2.5 @ ARIZONA -2.5
OVER/UNDER 39.5
Well we all know that every team wins at least some time. Can this be Detroits time?
Arizona has a decent defense, but offensively they are just offensive. WR David Boston is all they have.
Detroit has at least shown some semblence of offense and should be able to get that W.
Besides ask yourself this, is Arizona good enough to cover a 3 pt spread??
****************************************
Detroit 19 - Ariz. 17
****************************************
FINAL Az 45 - Det 38 Loser
ST LOUIS -7.5 AT NEW ENGLAND +7.5
OVER/UNDER 43.5
The Marshall is back and St. Louis is a Juggernaut again! This should be a laugher right. Well now slow down,
Bill Belicheck and his defense have shut down high powered offenses before. Just ask the Colts who had all thier weapons healthy and were handed thier behinds twice!
The Pats have a decent runnning game with Antwan Smith and QB Tom Brady is making New Englanders say Drew Who? While even I am not crazy enough to say N.E. will win
crazier things have happened this year.
****************************************
Rams 24 - N.E. 17

For College Fans!
Well OK FANS HERES where things really get interesting! This top TEN list is based on who I think is the better team based on what I've seen, and the teams record. Dont like it too bad! The beauty here is that we now have 3 unbeatens and 9 teams with 1 loss. Exactly what would happen to all those screaming for a playoff system. Lets say we had an 8 team playoff system, and the season were to end this way -- well 4 teams that had only one loss would be shut out of the playoffs, including some teams like Syracuse and Colorado who might have two losses but are playing much better football now than they were earlier this year. Which is exactly my point -- no matter what type of schemes and systems would be in place there would always be DEBATE and or CONTROVERSY, who would beat who? Woulda Coulda Shoulda, the heck with it LETS GO BACK TO THE OLD BOWL GAME SYSTEM I SAY AND LET THERE BE CONTROVERSY. In light of that this week my top TEN is a Dirty DOZEN SALUTING all teams with the 'NADS to be good enough to be in the TOP TEN!!
Want to make some comments?
This list is based what I've seen, and the teams record. Doesn't mean that Maryland wouldn't kick the SNOT out of BYU, or even UCLA for that matter...
Alright, for all you hard core college freaks out there, this will be a good saturday to find a local sports bar with plenty of screens - it's interstate rivalry weekend. Throw the records out the window, these games are played for pride and year-long bragging rights. There will be plenty of guts and glory to go around. In tribute to this staple of college football, the Doc will only be calling the games involving two teams from the same state. Let the turf wars begin!

Alabama +2.5 at Auburn -2.5
Man, these two teams have been very unpredictable this year, forcing the Doc to stay far away from the state of Alabama. I really think Dennis Francione is a great coach, and he will right the ship at Bama. The Tide will live or die by the somewhat erratic play of QB Tyler Watts. He is a great athlete, but needs to protect the ball. I think mistakes will be the difference here, and Auburn has had less trouble with those this year, making them slightly more predictable. Gotta take the Tigers at home - where they are especially stingy.

Auburn 23 - 'Bama 17

FINAL BAMA 31 - Aub 7 Loser
Clemson +5.5 at South Carolina -5.5
Clemson looks to salvage their season with a win over the rival Cocks. South Carolina needs a win to end their season on an up note after a brutal beating at the hands of Florida. Problem is, stud LB Kalimba Edwards is out, and offensive stars Derek Watson and Phil Petty are banged up pretty good. Anybody who reads me knows I love Lou, but I think Woody Dantzler plays a great game and pulls off the upset on the road. SC's offense will sputter a bit.

Clemson 27 - S.C. 24

FINAL S.Car 20 - Clem 15 COVER

UCLA -3.5 at USC +3.5
Ahh, the colors, the tradition, the pagentry of this great rivalry make the Doc teary eyed... These are two teams seemingly going in opposite directions lately. The Trojans, led by QB Carson Palmer, have won three straight and seem to have found a rhythm. UCLA is reeling after a strong start. They need to find someone to replace DeShaun Foster who has really carried the load for them on the ground. What I know that ya'll do not is that USC's wins were against patsies, and UCLA simply has too many "horses" for the Trojans to handle. Take the Bruins, with apologies to the Greek!
****************************************
UCLA 28 - USC 20
****************************************
FINAL USC 27 - UCLA 0 Loser

Washington State -1.5 at Washington +1.5
Washington State is probably the best team in America that nobody knows about. QB John Gesser, RB Dave McMinnich, and Wideout Nakoa Mc Elrath have the Wazzou rolling it up offensively. On the other side, the Huskies are coming off a tough loss, and really need to come up big here. I think the difference is that Washington's defense will step up and slow down Wash State's attack just enough for Cody Pickett and Co. to win the game.
****************************************
Wash. 23 - Wash. St. 21
****************************************
FINAL Wash 26 - Wash St 14 WINNER
For those ravenous fans who have been writing that they just can't get enough, the Doc will throw out an extra bone this week. Look for Florida to paste Fla State, and Miami to cover against the Cuse (cuz there's no dome in Miami, fellas). See Ya next week! The Doc is out.
