NFL WEEK 3!!

Tampa -2.5 @ Minnesota +2.5
OVER/UNDER 37.5

Minnesota at 0-2 needs to get on track, this will be a tall order against a very good Bucc. Team. If Chi. and Car. ground up Minnys Defense what will the Bucs do. The Dome offers little advantage as the Bucs have historically played well there, so going totally against all logic, I think that the Vikes offense will finally get on track and come up with a desperately needed win.

   Minn 24 - Tamp 21
****************************************
FINAL Min 20 - TB 16 WINNER

Miami +5.5 @ St. Louis -5.5
OVER/UNDER 43.5

Another Marquee early season matchup, after the Gem last week at home by Miami they will be sky high going to St.Louis. Sure the Rams can light it up but this is THE Demolition Defense, Zach Thomas will keep Faulk in check and the Corners will slow up the Rams recievers enough that an already slightly Gimpy K. Warner will be getting pressured into Mistakes. If Miami Can muster more point production they can steal this game!
****************************************
   St Louis 20 - Mia 16
****************************************
FINAL St Lou 42 - Mia 10 Winner/No Cov.

Kansas City -1.5 @ Washington +1.5
OVER/UNDER NL

What looks like a battle of also rans might be a very entertaining game, Wash. coming home for the first time since Sept. 11 will be looking for some respect after 2 consecutive blowouts. Kansas City as I have been saying all along is a good team, and much better than their 0-2 mark. Wash. Defense will keep them close, but the EDGE likes KC BIG this week to get off the schneid.
****************************************
    K.C. 27 - Wash 13
****************************************
FINAL KC 45 - Was 13 WINNER

Green Bay -3.5 @ Carolina +3.5
OVER/UNDER NL

Despite the shock of the apparent overrated vikings, Carolina came back to earth last week, and should get another dose of reality when the thus far flawless Pack comes into town. Ahman Green and Brett Farve have the Pack offense gelling and the rejuvinated defense has only given up one score in two games. The Pack looks like the best team right now, so it should come as no surprise...
****************************************
    GB 28 - CAR 17
****************************************
FINAL GB 28 - Car 7 WINNER

Indian. -9.5 @ New Engl. +9.5
OVER/UNDER 43.5

OK, no Bledsoe and the red hot Colts coming to N.E. this week, this may be an enormous blowout. BUT KEEP THIS in mind, N.E. is a defensive minded team and the stats favor the D.H.D. so even though the easy pick is the COLTS, and obviously I would be nuts not to pick them, I would honestly avoid putting too much down on this, cause if it looks to good, well you know the drill. Besides I know some books have this line up to 14+ points. But nobody better than Payton!
****************************************
    Indy. 30 - NE 6
****************************************
FINAL NE 44 - Indy 13 LOSER
But we warned you about this TRAP didn't we??

New Orleans +2.5 @ NY Giants -2.5
OVER/UNDER 36.5

OK, anyone who has loyally followed The EDGE for the last two years should know whats up here.. ahem. But the G-men do struggle against the Big Backs, look at Denver week 1, and last week KC's best offensive weapon was FB Tony Richardson. The Saints figure to give the G-men a big dose of thier big back Ricky Williams, and a bigger dose of thier big D, line.
****************************************
    N.O. 14 - Gints 13
****************************************
FINAL Gints 21 - NO 13 LOSER

Pitt. -2.5 @ Buff +2.5
OVER/UNDER 36.5

As woeful as the Bills have looked these past 2 weeks, things are about to get worse. Buffalo suffered several more losses to injury last week. The Plus is these are Kordell and the Steelers. So if Buffalo can contain Mr. Bettis, Rob "sackme" Johnson can outscore the Steelers, and people are going to wonder, how did Buffalo pull that one out?
****************************************
    Buffalo 20 - Pitts. 17
****************************************
FINAL Pitts 20 - Buf 3 LOSER

Atlanta -2.5 @ Ariz. +2.5
OVER/UNDER 41.5

Remeber that surprise Cardnal team everyone was talking about. Here at the Edge we exposed that fraud didn't we? Well heres a couple of frauds getting together in the desert. The only difference is that the Cardinals are more adept at losing than Atlanta. Thats the deciding factor here, the Falcons will be a facade at 2-1, go figure...
****************************************
    Atl. 23 - Ariz. 14
****************************************
FINAL Atl 34 - Az 14 WINNER

Balt. +3.5 @ Denv -3.5
OVER/UNDER 41.5

Heres a gem! The Ravens visit Denver, I know people are salivating to get the Ravens with the points. Well after this it may not be such a rarity! Denver looks as good as advertised even without e-z Ed Mc or Terrell Greise has emerged into a great leader, and the lack of a running game in Balt. means its all Elvis, for the Ravens, and he aint in the building, if you catch my drift!
****************************************
    Denv 17 - Balt 10
****************************************
FINAL Balt 20 - Denv 13 LOSER

Cincy +6.5 @ S.D. -6.5
OVER/UNDER 38.5

The super surprise match of the year - the unbeaten Bengals and unbeaten Chargers! whats going on here? Free agency, my friends. Although I love D. Flutie and cant bet against the MAN, Kitna, Dillon and the Bengals are a good bunch. The difference here will be Seau and the Charger D.
****************************************
    S.D. 34 - Cincy 23
****************************************
FINAL SD 28 - Cin 14 WINNER

Cleve. +7.5 @ Jax. -7.5
OVER/UNDER 35.5

Big 'D' loves Cleve. and might I add was the only one who not only picked Cleve. last week but picked them to win outright!! That wont wash with Jax. this week but heck if I want to bet against the Brownies and all them points (could be 9 by gametime) but I think the Jag has its growl back.
****************************************
    Jax. 20 - Cleve 10
****************************************
FINAL Cle 23 - Jax 14 LOSER

Sea. +10.5 @ Oakl. -10.5
OVER/UNDER 38.5

Phew whats that smell, oh thats seattles offense. All season I have been singing praises of the Hawks, and dang if I'm going back to that well. Just Win Baby!!
****************************************
    Oak 21 - Sea. 9
****************************************
FINAL Oak 38 - Sea 14 WINNER

Dallas +13.5 @ Phila -13.5
OVER/UNDER NL

For avid followers of the Edge, you can imagine my disappointment with Cowboys, yeah. So now that Emmitt is No. 2 in all time rushing what else do the Cowboys have to prove. Exactly. Philly has some old scores to settle, although the 'Pokes always muster a good effort against the Birds. McNabb will see that there is NO LET DOWN!
****************************************
    Philly 37 - Dall. 19
****************************************
FINAL Philly 40 - Dal 18 WINNER

San Fran +2.5 @ NY Jets -2.5
OVER/UNDER 43.5

For College Fans!

Aaah...it was great to be back after a week off. Saturday afternoons without college ball are just not the same. Lots of great matchups to pick from this week. Hopefully, I've found the best of the bunch... Heres this weeks picks: "

UCLA -4.5 at Oregon State +4.5

This should be a great game. The Bruins are loaded with talent and looking confident after two tough wins. Oregon State will be a tough challenge at home. The Bruins are familiar with starting off strong only to fade as the season wears on. They have been beaten by Dennis Erickson's Beavers twice in a row. I think Corey Paus will have a big game, and UCLA's talent will eventually win the day. This could be the start of something big for UCLA.
****************************************
   UCLA 27 - Ore St 20
****************************************
FINAL UCLA 38 - Ore st 7 WINNER

Kansas State +3.5 at Oklahoma -3.5

These are two very good programs, both with something to prove. K State is sick of being an also ran, despite racking up victories in the Big 12 year after year. Oklahoma is out to show the country that they can match last year's magical season. The key to this game is how K State's young QB, Ell Roberson handles the pressurs of Bob Stoops' D. I don't think he is up to the task. Look for the Sooners to make a big statement here.
****************************************
   Oklahoma 31 - KState 17
****************************************
FINAL OU 38 - KSU 37 Winner/No cov.

Illinois +6.5 at Michigan -6.5

Did you know that the Illini are 2-1-1 vs. the Wolverines in thier last four trips to the Big House? Kurt Kittner has been very successful passing the ball against the Michigan D during his career. When Michigan has the ball, they will be lead by BJ Askew at tailback, who has been averaging over five yards a carry. I see Michigan taking an early lead, and chewing clock thereafter. Illinois will scare them, but lose on the road.
****************************************
   Mich. 24 - Ill. 20
****************************************
FINAL Mich 45 - Ill. 20 Winner/No cov.

LSU +9.5 at Tennessee -9.5

I love Nick Saban - he's one of the best coaches out there. Last year, his Tigers jumped on Tennessee early and enjoyed a big upset. This year, the Vols will be ready. No way they get surprised this time. If the Tennessee D can step up, it will be a long day for the Tigers. If not, I'm still predicting a close win for the Vols. Tennessee, 33-24.
****************************************
   Tenn. 33 - LSU 24
****************************************
FINAL Tenn. 26 - LSU 18 Winner
