SPECIAL TAX DAY EDITION! Well on a day when the Government will soak most of us to pay for wars we don’t want or programs we don’t need, why not get a little relief and join us as we wrap up another season of the NBA Edge. While it was a rough go of things here this season, we still managed to deliver 65% winners against the spread, and in this day and age that’s a much better return than most of you get on your retirement portfolio. Well as it is the final issue of the NBA edge, it could also be the final game for the Nets in Jersey, word is Jay-Z and his boys will move the Nets over to Brooklyn next season, and the way this season went for them, it might not be soon enough. Tough to go against a team with the emotion of its final game in it’s home court… ask the Mavs how the Sonics responded in the same scenario. I have made quite a stash taking Charlotte and points, but 3 isn’t enough to bait me into this sucker bet.

Deeeetroit Baaaasketball… tuning up for the postseason the bad boys have been giving extended minutes to most of their bench in this stretch, yet despite featuring a glorified D-league team most of the game, the Pistons still got that pop. Minnesota is just playing out the string also featuring young promising players, but the Timberwolves have been a terror when getting a batch of points, capable of winning on the road as they have covered the last 3 straight road games. Seven is nothing to sneeze at but Detroit has and will be one of the best teams in the NBA in just about any condition. Look for the Pistons to once again run through the east in the playoffs regardless what they throw up tonight.

Big point spread and a big mismatch in the big easy! The Hornets are the best team in the west and deserving of the no. 1 seed, however they have been pedestrian at best when figuring in the point spread, only covering in like 5 of their last 10 games, and laying 16 points you really need to take that into account. The Clips have regained their spot as one of the worst teams in the NBA, but hey that is not so bad when you are looking to find a nice sweet wager you can unload on. Getting 16 points with ANY old NBA team is tough to overlook, but keep in mind the Clips have only covered once in the last 5 and like 3 times in the last ten games. So even with points you are taking quite a chance. As much as I dig dogs, the Clips are one ship I don’t want to be stuck on.
